Similar to any important relationship, we like to know our business partners before committing to a long-term relationship. To this end, we prefer to work with our companies in an advisory capacity prior to making our investment. This enables us to immediately start collaborating with management on critical business issues and to demonstrate the role we play and the value we bring to the relationship.
