With experience that stretches from Canada to Europe, from the United States to the Middle East and more, Murray Cobbe brings to the group a unique experience and background.
Murray currently holds the position of Chairman at Trican, Canada’s premier provider of pressure pumping services which grew to a market capitalization of over one billion dollars. Murray has been involved in the oilfield servicing business since 1974 and with Trican since it went public in 1996. Murray has specific expertise in Capital Structuring, Capital Budgeting, Growth Strategy, Negotiation, Talent Acquisition, and Opportunity Identification and Analysis.
Murray is the past Director and Chairman of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (“PSAC”) (the national association of Canadian oilfield service, supply and manufacturing companies). Murray currently serves as a director of Pason Systems Inc. (a leading provider of instrumentation systems to land-based and offshore drilling rigs worldwide), Bellatrix Exploration Ltd. (an exploration and production company), and is lead director of Secure Energy Services Ltd. (a publicly traded energy services company).
Murray graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1970 with a diploma in petroleum engineering (reservoir).
Kevin has over 11 years of corporate finance and business leadership and has worked both in industry and in a consulting role. Most recently, Kevin has been providing financial advisory services to clients in a variety of industries with a focus on Budgeting, Accounting, Cash Flow Forecasting, Business Valuation, M&A and Financing.
Prior to his role as a consultant, Kevin spent the previous 8 years working in progressively senior corporate finance roles at North American Energy Partners Inc. (NAEP), a publically-traded construction and mining contractor. During his time at NAEP, Kevin led the company’s Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning Functions, developing expertise in Corporate Finance, Leadership, Business Strategy, Forecasting, Financial Modeling, Valuation, Acquisitions and Divestitures, Debt and Equity Financing, and Capital Markets.
Prior to joining NAEP, Kevin worked at Finning (Canada) where he started his career as a financial analyst and received his certification as a blackbelt in Six-Sigma process improvement, leading corporate-wide business process improvement initiatives.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 2003 and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2009.
Elise Robertson joined RMC from Pacesetter Directional Drilling, where she was the Controller from 2007 through to the sale of Pacesetter to Schlumberger in January of 2015. At Pacesetter, aside from her day to day accounting oversite, Elise was a significant part of the strategic growth of the company, overseeing the implementation of leading processes and systems, creating efficiencies which contributed to making Pacesetter a market leader.
Elise graduated from Mount Royal University with an Applied Business Degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business. She is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant (CPA, CMA).
Elise is also fluent in French and lives in Calgary with her husband and two daughters.
Cuong leads all acquisition analysis work relating to potential investments and works with RMC’s portfolio companies and clients on all matters relating to corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, banking, financing, and corporate governance. He has experience working with organizations of all types and sizes, including public issuers, private companies, startups, government agencies and private equity firms.
Prior to joining RMC, Cuong worked for a junior capital provider where he specialized in financing mid-market businesses with tailored subordinated debt, mezzanine and equity financing solutions.
In addition to being a CFA Charterholder, Cuong also holds a Masters of Business Administration in Natural Resources, Energy and Environment (NREE) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelors of Commerce in Entrepreneurship from the University of Victoria.
Jesse’s focus is on business development for Resource and our investee companies and brings to Resource an in-depth understanding of how some of the largest and most successful sports organizations develop their leadership teams. Prior to joining Resource Jesse was and still is an athlete on Canada’s Men’s Bobsledding Team where he has competed in both the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in both the two and four man bobsleds. Jesse further plans on competing in his third Olympic games in 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Between 2005 and 2010 Jesse spent time with two NFL teams and three CFL teams last playing for the Calgary Stampeders, who he retired with. In addition to the numerous awards and milestones Jesse achieved during his athletic career he is the most proud of being named the winner of the Inaugural Randy Starkman Humanitarian award for his efforts in the community.
Jesse graduated from McMaster University with a BSc. of Environmental Science. In Jesse’s spare time he undertakes professional speaking engagements, works color commentary for CIS Football and is still very active in fundraising for Canadian based non-profits. On weekends and evenings you will most likely find Jesse on the water with his fly rod or hunting North American big game with his bow.
Annie Lesperance began her career at the Bank of Montreal, were as an Account Manager she grew strong relationships with clients where her primary activities were to review and analyze company performance, to conduct company financial analysis and to present financial and nonfinancial information into the banks risk evaluation system.
As the Controller at DSI Inc., a leading thru-tubing business, which sold to ALS Inc. in 2014, Annie was involved in projects including: fixed US sales and uses tax issues, created an asset register with over 3000 owned assets, depreciation methodology changes, creating project profitability and costs analysis reports.
Annie obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Universite de Sherbrooke. She has her Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant (CPA, CMA) designations.
Annie grew up in Sherbrooke, Quebec. She now resides in Calgary with her husband and daughter in a new and exciting chapter in her career.
